About Us

Families Together in Albany County is a grant funded, not-for-profit organization helping children and youth with social, emotional or behavioral concerns and their families.  Our staff of caring Parent Partners, social workers and Youth Advocates, who have experience with a wide-array of services, are here to help strengthen, inform and educate families about the resources that are available to them. 

We are here to help you navigate through the “System of Care”.  We can help provide opportunities for youth who are isolated from others due to their challenging behaviors – and provide educational opportunities and networking for all families and community members though a variety of workshops and parenting support groups.

What is a System of Care?

System of Care is not a program – it is a philosophy of how care should be delivered. A System of Care is an approach to services that recognizes the importance of family, school and community, and seeks to promote the full potential of every child and youth by addressing their physical, emotional, intellectual, cultural and social needs.

When children with mental health needs receive coordinated services, their functioning substantially improves at school, home and in their community. The System of Care will help bridge a gap to services and help put an end to stigma.
